SHEQ Coordinator

Following a period of expansion, Streamline Shipping Group are looking for an ESG Coordinator to assist in driving forward the organisations strategy and compliance with a variety of SHEQ projects.

The SHEQ Coordinator will play a key role in supporting the business foster a culture of safety, compliance and continuous improvement across our operations.

This role will report to the Group SHEQ Manager, but play a vital role in supporting stakeholders across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the creation and implementation of SHEQ strategies and plans to reduce risk.
  • Support organisational strategies to drive a positive safety culture, engagement and consultation.
  • Oversee the company’s document management system to ensure compliance with ISO management systems.
  • Manage the electronic SHEQ Management System.
  • Administration of online incident reporting systems ensuring all incidents are documented and closed out timeously.
  • Create standard operating procedures, toolbox talks, safety memo’s and reports.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly SHEQ KPI report.
  • Maintain up-to-date training records and ensure all employees meet required competencies.
  • Support the creation, management and review of risk assessments, including general risk assessments, COSHH and DSE.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all work and lifting equipment is inspected and maintained as per company policy and regulations.
  • Assist in carrying out inductions, preparing and recording new start documentation.
  • Work with the company insurers, brokers and other stakeholders to assess, develop and reduce the divisions risk profile.
  • Ensuring reporting of all relevant details to brokers and insurers in line with reporting procedures for accidents, incidents, and other notifiable events to ensure adequate information captured in event of claims.
  • General administration in relation to all SHEQ requirements.

Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role.
  • Experience of working with ISO 9001, 14001 and/or 45001 management systems.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent planning, organisation and time management skills with ability to manage own workload.
  • Understanding of UK health and safety legislation and best practices
  • Ability to carry out trend analysis and interpret date.
  • Proficient in using Office 365 packages.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) – or working towards.
  • Desirable: COSHH Risk Assessor
