Parcel Returns from Orkney and Shetland
Need to return a parcel? No problem! Streamline handles most parcel returns from the islands to the UK Mainland when you arrange the return through your supplier.
Once you’ve requested a return from your supplier and received a shipping label, drop off the parcel at one of our depots, or contact us to arrange a collection.
Important: All parcel returns must include a printed shipping label – QR codes and barcodes won’t be accepted at our depots. If you can’t print the label yourself, simply email it to your local depot, and we’ll print it for you.
Tips for Stress-Free Shipping
We’ve been in the island shipping game long enough to know the quirks of delivery. To make life easier for you – and for us – here are some handy tips for a smooth and stress-free experience:
- Pack Like a Pro:
Bubble wrap is your best friend when sending fragile items! If it’s breakable, cushion it well. Make sure to pack items securely and label them as fragile where needed. A bit of extra care in packaging can go a long way in ensuring a safe arrival. - Mind the Weather:
If there’s a storm brewing, plan ahead by adding a bit of extra time to your delivery expectations. Ferries can be delayed due to high winds or rough seas, and while we do everything we can to keep things on track, it’s always good to expect a little delay just in case. Being prepared will keep you stress-free! - Save Some Pennies:
If you’ve got multiple parcels to send, combine them into one shipment. This can save you money and reduce your delivery costs. If the items are small enough, try to consolidate them into one box or parcel. It’s more cost-effective, and it’s better for the environment too! - Safe Place Priorities:
Think ahead about where your parcel will be left if you’re not home. A secure, dry spot is ideal (think porches, sheds, or tucked under a canopy). No one likes a soggy delivery box, so plan a safe and sheltered spot where your package can stay dry, even in heavy rain. If you can’t find a good spot, let us know, and we’ll work together to find a solution. - Label It Clearly:
When sending parcels, especially if they’re going through multiple stops or ferries, ensure your labels are easy to read and all the necessary information is included. Double-check the address details (especially postcodes) to avoid any confusion. It’ll help our team get your delivery to the right place without any hiccups. - Ferry Schedules Matter:
Ferries are essential for island deliveries, but they’re not always predictable. Always check the sailing schedules before sending or receiving parcels, especially during peak seasons or bad weather. - Keep Your Contact Info Updated:
Always make sure your contact details are up to date. This helps us reach you quickly if we need to clarify something about your delivery or notify you of any delays. If we need a little more info, it’s much easier to get in touch when we have the correct phone number or email. - Be Ready for Collection:
If you’re arranging a parcel return, make sure you’re prepared. Have your parcel ready with the proper shipping label printed (QR codes or barcodes won’t work at the depot). If you’re unsure about the return process or need to arrange a collection, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us – we’re here to help make the process as simple as possible!
